Serving God Through Homeschool Assistance

HISTORY & VISION

Through God’s provision of resources and individuals giftings, the Home School Building (HSB) was developed and built in 1998 to assist the raising up of a godly generation. The goal of the HSB is to glorify God by encouraging and strengthening families who are dedicated to the academic, physical, and spiritual training of their children at home.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

FACILITY & SERVICES

The facility, including 14 classrooms, gymnasium, library, lounge, and offices, currently serves as host to some 500+ students each week through supplemental classes offered by a number of independent home education associations in West Michigan. Additionally, HSB provides a comfortable meeting place for many area support groups. The gymnasium, which is large enough to house two full-sized basketball courts, will ultimately serve as the home for many homeschooled basketball and other sports teams.

THE BOOKSTORE

Summer of 2000 brought the opening of the Home School Bookstore.  An on site retail curriculum enterprise, which allows year-round access to a wide selection of homeschool curriculum and supplemental materials.  As God provides additional volunteers, programs will be added, designed to encourage and build up Mothers and Fathers; provide educational events (i.e. spelling and geography bees); and coordinate various workshops, seminars, and conferences.

Additionally, HSB desires to be an information, resource, and networking center for those new families interested in the homeschooling option, as well as for those who need assistance to further improve upon their current homeschool program.
