Amber Renee Lucas,
daughter of Rick & Michelle Lucas, Byron Center

Amber has been homeschooled for ten years. Amber has been active in WMHSB for the past 8 years in the band and vocal programs. She performed with Homeschool Performing Arts in “Titanic,” “When Calls the Heart,” and “Fiddler on the Roof.”

Amber enjoys composing music for the piano. She has taught flute lesions and enjoys tutoring local fifth graders. At church, Amber has been involved with working in the Autistic children’s program.

Amber’s dream is to follow the Lord’s plan for her life. Her goal is to someday work in music therapy with special needs children.

Luke A. Maas,
son of Dan & Brenda Maas, Grand Rapids

Luke is the son of Dan and Brenda Maas and brother to five siblings, Danae, Carissa, Michael, Natalie, and April. His country of origin is Argentina; he became a U.S. citizen at one year of age.

Luke has been homeschooled since first grade. His scholastic studies have included classes from Teenworks, Grace, The Potter’s House, Moody, and Kent Career Technical Center. He was an active member of 4-H and the Northern Lights Home School Marching Band drum line for a number of years, including trips to the Peach Bowl and Washington D.C. He lettered four years playing varsity soccer for the Hornets Soccer team, which participated in the Home School Soccer National this past season in Iowa. Other highlights have included artistic studies, literature, public speaking, and MOSES mission trips. An active member of Frontline Community church, Luke has been serving as worship team drummer for the past three years.

His future plans include continuing his education at a technical college and drumming opportunities.
