Robin E. Brown, Grand Rapids
Robin, daughter of Robert and Leslie Brown, born and raised in Grand Rapids, age 17, has been educated at home for the last three years. She enjoys reading, dancing, singing, acting and leading dance groups for the summer youth programs. volunteered at Grandville Arts Academy and North American Choral Company as well as participating in their choral program. Robin was dual enrolled at Grand Rapids Community College. She is majoring in Spanish with a minor in dance and music. She will be attending Aquinas College in the fall. Where God is leading her she's committed to following him. Robin is truly a blessing to our family and she is going to give God his all.

Alyssa Crawford, Ada
Alyssa Crawford, daughter of Darrell and Debra, loves the arts; she played violin in the GR Youth Symphony and was involved in HPA. Alyssa has served in multiple cross-cultural mission experiences, holds a black belt in Tae Kwan Do and currently is working toward her Congressional Gold Medal. Honored to be accepted into the Seidman School of Business at GVSU, Alyssa plans to pursue a degree to help her own a business someday. This summer she will be interning at Mel Trotter Ministries after winning the Glen VanNoord Scholarship for 2008. She is also a recipient of the Michigan Competitive, Promise and Robert Skutt Scholarships.

Daniel Crawford, Byron Center
Daniel Crawford is the youngest child of Otis and Carrie Crawford. He started homeschooling in his mother's arms as she recited the Abeka phonics to his 3 older brothers. No wonder he learned to read early. As Daniel grew into his teen years we discovered the God given talent in Music. He played in band during his Jr. High years playing the saxophone. A Christmas gift of a guitar changed his life. He now teaches guitar. Daniel has been in 8 Homeschool Performing Arts productions. His favorite was as the Mayor of Whoville in "Suessical the Musical". Daniel's future plans will be in music. He will be taking some music courses at Grand Rapids Community College as well as helping at his church in the band. His parents say, "Daniel you have a call of God on your life to reach your generation. You have been doing this already. We are looking forward to all He has for you in the future."

Michelle Renae Eddy, Kentwood
Michelle, daughter of Randy and Elaine Eddy, has been homeschooled for 11 years. During those years she has been a part of West Michigan Home School Fine Arts where she played French Horn and Mellophone and also participated in Colorguard with flag and rifle. She competed on Patriots Volleyball and Eagles Basketball teams, while also playing with the Kentwood Community Church's brass and orchestra and has gone to Washington D.C. with KCC's student mission's trip over Spring Break '08.
She plans to attend Cornerstone University in the fall of '08 to earn a BA in General Business, with a duel minor in Spanish and Music. She hopes to marry and become a stay at home Mom and plans to grow closer to her Heavenly Father and become a Proverbs 31 woman of Wisdom.

Nicole Kline, Grand Rapids
Nicole is a 18 year old GRACE Home School graduate, and the eldest child of Jeff and Connie Kline. Nicole has been active in her church, Highland Hills Baptist Church since she was five years old. It was at church that she was introduced to sign language, this was an easy language for her to grasp and she soon was excelling at it. She continued to pursue her interest by taking additional classes from Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services and has been able to use it when conversing with a deaf cousin and other deaf individuals she meets.
Her future plans include teaching children grades K-3 and 4-6 in the GRACE Home School Association. She has worked at Lake Ann Baptist camp last summer as a Kitchen Crew member, and will be working there again this summer as a Cook's Assistant. She enjoys playing her guitar and writing songs as well as stories. She does not plan on attending college at this time but may in the future. Whatever her plans will be we just wish for her Proverbs 3: 5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight."

Daniel Prewitt, Wyoming
Daniel, son of Doug and Susan Prewitt, celebrated the culmination of his K-12 home education pursuits on May 3, 2008. Along with various academic studies, developing numerous artistic skills, and continued spiritual growth, Daniel has diligently pursued pre-professional ballet training for 8 years with Turning Pointe School of Dance, under the direction of Rick and Lara Faucher. He has been accepted into the 2008-2009 trainee program with Ballet Magnificat! in Jackson, Mississippi.

Joshua Paul Traverse, Middleville
Joshua Paul Traverse, son of Ross and Diane Traverse, has been homeschooled all his life. Joshua has participated in WMHFA and Northern Lights Marching Band for 9 years and HPA as sound/light technician for 3 years. Josh plays French horn on his church's worship team and is one of the sound technicians. He has been involved in the Barry County 4-H program for 9 years, showing rabbits, beef, clowning, gardening, and non-livestock projects and has been a member of the 4-H Advisory Council for three years. Joshua's favorite hobby is beekeeping. Josh has earned his black belt in karate and is a recipient of a 2008 Congressional Medal of Merit. After traveling to Romania in August for a two-week mission trip, Josh plans on attending Emmaus Bible College in Iowa.

Amber L. VanderGeld, Caledonia
Amber Lynne VanderGeld, daughter of Bill and Sondra, has been homeschooled seven years and has enjoyed traveling the country with her family in our motorhome. Throughout high school, Amber has participated in several dramas. She has also been involved with our church worship team and has organized several community out-reach singing programs with her sister throughout West Michigan. Amber has a passion for animals and volunteered at the Zoo last year and will be doing so again this year. She received the Summer Discovery award for John Ball Zoo last summer. Amber will be attending Cornerstone University next year with a pre-vet Biology major. Amber has received academic scholarships, as well as a music scholarship.

Rose Washburn, Byron Center
Rose is the dearly loved daughter of Tim and Julie Washburn. She is one of six children and is sandwiched between five brothers, two older, three younger. In their company she has learned much patience, endurance and grace She, along with her brothers, has been homeschooled all her life. Born in beautiful Petoskey, MI. Rose and her family moved down to GR in '91 and has been here since. Rose enjoys reading, various musical artists, guitar, horses, people-watching, and art. She is planning on going into the medical field, and is looking at GRCC or an EMT course. She attends St. John Chrysostom Russian Orthodox Church with her family and sings in the choir.
